Radiens Standard is free forever and produces publication-grade results — it is not a trial. It is the universal open-read-convert tool for ephys: native multi-vendor reading, automated spike sorting, LFP & EEG power spectra, signal-quality metrics, and full open-format compatibility (NWB, CSV, and more). Your data stays in your format on your own storage, and work on your own machine is never limited.
There is no time-limited free trial, because the free Standard tier is permanent — not a trial. You can produce publication-grade results on Standard forever: open, read, and convert any lab's data, sort spikes, and run LFP and EEG spectra. Add Pro only when your work needs professional analysis and scale. Nothing expires, and your data always stays in open formats on your own storage.
Radiens Standard is free forever. Radiens Pro is $2,000 per year and Radiens Compute Pro is $800 per year for an academic license. Radiens Services (expert time and analysis engagements) is quoted, and commercial licensing is available on request.
Radiens Pro adds professional depth on top of Standard — first-class high-density acquisition (SiNAPS and Neuropixels), probe-specific sorting with manual curation and cluster-quality metrics, advanced field analysis, full Vantage™ (live spectral analysis, sorting, and PSTH on any DAQ), study-scale quality metrics and FAIR metadata, AI operability (agent-operable, headless, and batch), and included cluster usage for the work that needs it.
Radiens Compute is the Radiens backend driven from your own code — RadiensPy and the Radiens CLI. Radiens Compute Standard is free; Radiens Compute Pro is $800 per year, academic, for the advanced backend work. Work on your own machine is unlimited and never metered.
Radiens Services is expert time, quoted to the job: lab onboarding and priority support, analysis engagements run with your team, or custom workflows and integrations built into your existing systems — including AI and agent pipelines set up around your data, from shaping and validation to prompts. It is also where anything beyond a plan is handled — more cluster capacity, lab-wide oversight such as PI dashboards spanning every rig, institutional agreements, and commercial licensing. It is scoped and quoted to your work, not a subscription tier.
You can upgrade to Radiens Pro directly in the app with a credit card or purchasing card (P-card), or request a quote for a purchase order — your existing data and work carry straight over, with nothing to reinstall or re-upload.
Yes — Radiens offers prepaid multi-year plans (2–5 years) designed to line up with grant durations, so you can fund the software for the life of an award with a predictable, one-time cost. Multi-year prepayment is discounted 8–25% off list; quarterly and annual billing are also available.
Modern professional software — including the cloud services labs already rely on — is subscription-based, and Radiens is no exception: the platform is continuously developed, so new analysis methods, upgrades, and format support are recurring value with a recurring cost. Unlike most cloud services, though, your data never lives with us — you keep everything you record and derive, in open formats on your own storage, whether or not you subscribe. The subscription pays for the tools to acquire, analyze, and interpret your data, never for access to the data itself.
If a Radiens Pro subscription lapses, Radiens reverts to the free Standard tier — you keep all your data and files, with nothing uploaded or held back. You lose only the Pro professional tools, and they return as soon as you renew.
