Signal Quality Intelligence

Quality information that flows from acquisition through every downstream workflow stage.

Signal Quality Intelligence is the through-line concept of Informed Electrophysiology: quantitative signal quality metrics computed during acquisition propagate through curation, analysis, and archiving, informing decisions at every stage. Rather than quality being assessed once (during analysis) and discarded, it becomes persistent metadata attached to the dataset.

Why it matters: Without quality intelligence, each workflow stage operates blind to the conditions under which the data was recorded. Curation cannot prioritize sessions by quality. Analysis cannot weight confidence by channel reliability. Archives cannot be searched by signal characteristics. Quality intelligence closes these gaps by making quality a first-class data attribute.

Components: Per-channel SNR, impedance history, unit yield estimates, artifact flags, deviation alerts from expected signal models, and intervention logs. These are computed during acquisition by Allego and persist through the Radiens pipeline.

Relationship to Informed Electrophysiology: Signal Quality Intelligence is the mechanism by which Informed Acquisition enables Informed Curation, Informed Analysis, and Informed Archiving. It is the connective tissue of the Informed Electrophysiology framework.
